On the 28th of August 2022, Friends of HAIDA and Parks Canada organized a small event to mark the 79th year of the commissioning of HMCS HAIDA. The highlight of the event was the the firing of the 4 inch 'A' guns at 12:00 noon and at at 2 PM. It was nice to see the guns in action after a two year dormancy on account of COVID. Seeing the ship all dressed up added to the event.

Ship's visitors patiently await the firing of the 4 inch guns at 2 PM. Some of the ship's visitors opted to watch the firing from the stage at Pier 8. Others gathered near the brow. |
