LOCATION: Between Ile de Yeu and Sables D'Olonne.

HAIDA'S MISSION: Kinetic patrol of the Bay of Biscay (sweeps of the coastal regions of France in search of enemy shipping).

ACTION: HAIDA, along with several other Allied ships, engaged a German convoy of six ships when a shell exploded in the breech of HAIDA's "Y" gun killing two men and seriously injuring at least 8 others. All six German ships were sunk; two of which are attributed to HAIDA, despite her own damage.
