When Huron ran aground and the ship was put in Sasebo, Japan drydock for repairs, Neil Goodwill (L) and Barney Haggerty (R) had good reason to visit the city's bars in the summer of 1953. That's Japanese "Ashai" beer that is being consumed. Legend has it that one could not get drunk on it since it was brewed from rice. Aboard HURON in 1958 off Bermuda. The "band" gets together on the 3"50 gun deck. The guy on the keyboard is Tom Fullerton playing the padre's portable pump organ. They had a deal worked out.
