Taken in May 1957, Iroquois is drydocked in Halifax for a refit which will last until October 1958. When it was completed, full power trials indicated that she could maintain 28 knots in fairly rough weather. By the end of that year, her shafts and propellors were giving so much trouble that they had to be replaced.

The ship is still fitted with her 293 radar and below that, the side profile of the AN/SPS6-C radar is clearly evident. Just barely visible below the SPS6-C  is the meshed-reflector version ot the Sperry MkII navigation radar. In the background, the Angus Macdonald  bridge is just under construction.
