The Captain For the Day in 1960 was Able Seaman Doug Bell, Stoker. "Flagel" (His last name) is in the centre at the back. On the left is a young Able Seaman-Stoker (Name forgotten) from Quebec) "Salmon" (His last Name) from out west somewhere. To the right of Flagel is a new member who came aboard (I can't remember his name as well). Then there is the farm boy from one of the prairie provinces. Told me what type of pig I had on my knee. Asked me to go shopping with him so he would stay sober for the night, then got me P---ed out of my tree. Can't for the life of me remember his name as well. Then there is another young stoker from Quebec who didn't fit in at first, but came around when I showed him how to wash the mess deck floors and have a good time doing it and going ashore together once in a while.
