CANADIAN MARCONI HOME ENTERTAINMENT -  MODELS 86 and 87

Type: 13 tube, AC operated, double conversion superheterodyne receiver with magic eye tuning indicator and a  switch selectable 'Q' circuit. In the on position, it silences the receiver in the absence of a carrier. Today this function is called squelch.

Frequency range: The Marconi service manual does not provide a  frequency range. However, the following can read from the picture of the dial

550 to 1600 KHz
1.8 to 5.4 MHz (est)
5.4 to 15 MHz. (est)

Tube lineup: 6K7, 6A8, 6C5, 6A8, 6K7, 6K7, 6H6, 6F5, 2 x 6L6, 6F5, 5Z3, 6E5

Audio power:  20 watts undistorted
Speaker size: 12 inches, however, the parts listing shows two different part numbers for the speaker. Twelve inches is assumed to be the size for the model 86.

Input power:

115 VAC 60 Hz  158 watts
115 VAC 25 Hz  164 watts

Comment: The difference between the model 86 and 87 is not explained in the manual, however, it is assumed that the model 87 is the tabletop version of the receiver. Both models share the same chassis.
