             Model 294 has four preset tuning pushbuttons

Comment: Canadian Marconi first used the model designators 291 and 294 in 1938 for car radios. For an unknown reason, they decided to apply the same model numbers to two tabletop radios built in the  early 1950s.
 
 

Model 291 This is how the radio was installed - it attached to the steering column. There were no holes that needed to be drilled.

The Model 294 with  external, 8 inch, electrodynamic speaker . It has four pushbutton automatic tuning.
