SPEECH AMPLIFIER

Type: Portable , commercial, Speech Amplifier. Used by radio stations CFCF and CKAC whenever it was necessary to do a remote broadcast or live entertainment or sporting events.
Comment: Judging from the format of the nameplate, these aamplifier smay have only been made for these two radio stations. The unit even lacks a serial number.

The electronics for the speech amplifier is housed in the upper unit with the batteries below it. Sound energy from the microphone is processed by two stages of voltage amplification followed by five stages of power amplification. (From Radio Magazine April. 1924. Submitted by Lewis Bodkin)
