Pictured are seven crewmen in an eight men mess taken aboard NOOTKA on November 20, 1947. This was typical of a mess deck in a Tribal. The two closest to the camera are Howie Knox (left) and Rupe Daniels (right-now deceased).  The other crew remain unidentified at this time. (HAIDA Archives Photo 989.018.109)
 
 

NOOTKA Soccer Team 1947. The photo on the jetty was taken in 1947 while the ship was in Port of Spain Trinidad and just before going  ashore to play the local team who beat Nootka soundly. The game was followed by a dinner sponsored by city officials. It was a great experience for the Nootka team. Click to enlarge.
