FH-2 DF OUTFIT

Frequency range: 670 KHz to 20 MHz.
Indicating Method: Aural null
One document located at HMS Collingwood Museum indicates FH-2 had the following components: S16 frame coil, M9, E27, K7, N20 and S29. The meaning of the codes is not known at this time with the exception of the S29 goniometer. Except for the frame coils, the remaining components are identical to that of the FH-3. It is NOT known at this time if the FH-2 used the B21 receiver. A note indicates that the FH-2 was fitted on "Capital ships".
Could this have been the forerunner to the FH-3 set?

If anyone can add to this small amount of information, please contact : jerry.proc@sympatico.ca

This composite image might be that of the FH-2 outfit. There are no known pictures to compare it with.   (Photo components courtesy British Admiralty)

A closer look at the S-29 goniometer. Too bad the photo doesn't show the method of attaching (cable glands vs binding posts)  the cables from the loop antennas.  (Photo  courtesy British Admiralty)
