David
Manning - HMCS HAIDA WWII
*
This is my second attempt at building HMCS Haida because the first hull
wasn't to my liking.
*
Construction of version 2 began on 29 August 2004 (full construction
log at www.pier72.com )
*
Planking started in September 2004.
*
Multiple coats of resin on the outside and matting with resin on the inside.
*
R/C equipment has returned to a 2 channel Futaba due to my 6 channel SANWA
breaking down.
*
Power plants alternate between a 6 volt gell cell for scale speed and a
12v gel cell for a bit of fun.
*
This model also has sound effects for the guns (the sound of 16" battleship
guns actually) that fire
when
she turns to port. These will be on a separate channel when I purchase
a new multi channel radio.

Manning's Haida is in the middle and in a more advanced state of construction.
On her port side is HMAS Arunta ( builder not identified) and on
her starboard side is HMAS Warramunga built by Ron Rosenburg. All are members
of the model builder's club known as Task Force 72. |
