The Sick Bay is the ship's hospital or infirmary. During wartime, the ship had a Medical Officer who was assisted by a Sick Berth Attendant who was really the equivalent of a Registered Nurse. The seriously ill or wounded would often be transferred to larger ships for treatment. During peacetime, the ship was staffed with a highly skilled Sick Berth Attendant who was called the 'Tiffy' or 'Doc'. Members of the ship's company who were ill or required attention would muster for 'Sick Parade' usually at 08:00 hours each morning.
