OTTAWA, March 24—(Special)-  The pioneer Canadian tribal destroyer Iroquois, which slugged it out with the German navy on the Murmansk convoy run, in the English Channel and Bay of Biscay and off the coast of Norway is going back to a fighting career April 15.

The 10-year-old Iroquois, after an extensive refit and conversion, will tail on that date from its Halifax base for her first tour of duty in the  Korean war zone. She is expected to reach the Far East late in May, relieving H.M.C.S. Cayuga.
The veteran destroyer began her latest commission last October and since then has been carrying out work-up and a lengthy series of trials. Her new armament and other modern equipment makes her a ship of major difference from the Iroquois which served in the Atlantic during World War II.

In Korean waters, the Iroquois will join the sister ships Athabaskan and Nootka, both of which are serving their second tour of duty.
